Virgie Ezelle Patton
Virgie Patton created this piece with the annual Summer Mural Institute in 2008. The curved corner of the Western Reserve Historical Society used to be a site of bus stops, when the buses were segregated. When toured around the neighborhood she grew up in to select a wall for a public mural, it was appropriate that the side of the history museum sit vacant. Without any notice we walked into the museum and asked to speak with the Ex. Dir about use of their wall. Things came in place, and with the support of several individual donors, University Circle Inc and the WRHS this mural was created for the historic Glenville Neighborhood.
